I was introduced to art by my father, who worked as a theatrical artist in Vaudeville. My first formal training was in Classical Greek Art, through the National Museum of Art in Athens, Greece. I undertook further independent studies in Edinburgh, London, and Florence.

I work from my imagination and use my art as a doorway to the subconscious. I also work from life, as the direct experience of seeing lines and colors inspires me. I'm fascinated with the details of organic forms and use enlargement to simplify the complex beauty of nature: the mystery of the real expressed through enlargement.

My strongest influences have come from the work of Chagall and Kandinsky’s book “Concerning the Spiritual in Art”.
